Central Services Technician
At St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital we’re passionate about patient care, providing services including da Vinci robotic surgery, top-rated cardiac care, the innovative Center for Joint Replacement and our new cancer treatment center. With two main campuses in Newburgh and Cornwall, a range of outpatient services and top-to-bottom renovations — we’re raising the bar on health care in our region. We are currently looking for a Central Services Technician to join our team.
This position is responsible for ensuring that all surgical supplies, instruments and equipment are properly inventoried, decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, stored, distributed and tracked in a quality / timely manner throughout the hospital. The Technician also performs a variety of duties to maintain infection control standards for the health and safety of hospital patients, medical staff, and personnel.
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with courses in sterilization technology, preferred. Basic computer knowledge. Ability to read, write and communicate in English. Two (2) years in a hospital environment, preferably as a Sterile Processing Technician. Successfully passed certification test, preferably through IAHCSMM or eligibility for certification within 6 months of hire.

Central Sterile Processing Supervisor

With two main campuses in Newburgh and Cornwall, a range of outpatient services and top-to-bottom renovations — we’re raising the bar on health care in our region. We are currently looking for a Central Sterile Processing Supervisor.
The Central Sterile Supervisor will be responsible for performing equipment and sterilization care and inspection and acts as a maintenance resource to the medical and nursing staff. Monitors and maintains perpetual inventory of specific patient care procedural trays. Assures equipment is maintained in operable condition and work is done in a safe environment. Reviews and evaluates plans for appropriate utilization of staff. Creates work schedules and assignment sheets. Actively takes part in the recruitment, interviewing and hiring of employees for the central services department and evaluates technicians through performance appraisals.
This position requires an Associate’s Degree in related field with the ability to read, write and communicate in English. A minimum of three (3) years Central Sterile Processing Service experience with at least one (1) year in a supervisory or leadership capacity. Current Central Service Technician Certification required and the Central Service Supervisor/Manager Certification within 6 months of hire.
