Chapter members from New York City, Rochester, Syracuse and Niagara Falls
attended the International Association Healthcare for Central Service Material Management annual meeting and seminar in Louisville Kentucky, April 30th-May 4, 2011. Members were apart of the early festivities surrounding the famous Kentucky Derby. The two tours that were offered during pre-registration were the Churchill Downs Race Track and the Louisville Slugger Museum. Both tours included lunch and a bus tour of historic down town Louisville. I gave these events four stars.
The education sessions and discussions provided attendees exceptional information relating to sterilization, technical updates regarding care and maintenance of instrumentation and supervisor/management skills to run a professional and successful CSSD department. Free credit hours were given out to attendees from many different vendors during the vendor exhibit.
Many attendees experienced for the first time ever vendor repair van. The vendor repair vans were on display at the vendor exhibit.
In addition to the very knowledgeable and quality panel of speakers, we had a great keynote speaker, Diana Jordon that made the audience laugh a lot while learning about yourself and taking pride in what you do.
The Lower Hudson Valley Southern NY Association for Central Service Professionals (LHVSNY) was approved by IAHCSMM for chapter affiliation at the May 2011 meeting in Kentucky.
The New York Association for Central Service Professionals (NYSACSP) would like to welcome Lower Hudson Valley Southern NY Association for Central Service Professionals (LHVSNY) on board as well.
